Friday, December 1 has been set as the annual Iowa REALTOR® Ring Day for the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign. REALTOR® members from around Northwest Iowa will join colleagues across the state and across the nation to host kettles and raise funds for this important cause.
Locally, members of the Northwest Iowa Board of REALTORS® have committed to staff bell ringing stations at four locations in the Siouxland area from 10:30 AM to 6 PM. Members will be at:
- Hy-Vee on Gordon Drive, Sioux City
- Hy-Vee on Hamilton Boulevard, Sioux City
- Fareway on Indian Hills Drive, Sioux City
- Walmart on Holton Drive, LeMars
This idea came from a REALTOR® member in Fargo, N.D., who wanted to give real estate professionals an opportunity to support a cause familiar to them – housing. The Salvation Army was the perfect fit because it offers so many housing-related programs. This is the sixth year members of the Iowa REALTOR® family have participated in this great event, in which members from over 26 other states ring the bell for the Salvation Army.
Last year, more than 300 Iowa REALTORS® participated in this event and raised more than $30,000. Help us make a bigger impact this year! It promises to be an exciting and rewarding day! Grab a friend and contact Heather at the board office at (712) 255-8810 to get signed up for a shift.
The Northwest Iowa Regional Board of REALTORS® will host a forum featuring the three Democratic candidates for U.S. House District 4 Representative at a luncheon event Thursday, October 19 at Noon.
The event will be held at Marina Inn & Conference Center, 385 4th Street, South Sioux City, NE.
Candidates Paul Dahl, Leeann Jacobsen and J.D. Scholten are confirmed to attend and will address the expected 100+ attendees with prepared remarks beginning around 12:10 PM.
Following prepared statements, the candidates will take questions from REALTOR® members regarding housing, tax legislation and other issues surrounding the protection of private property rights and current events. The meeting will conclude no later than 1:00 PM.
All three candidates are engaged in a race to become the Democratic nominee in the 2018 race for the U.S. House District 4 seat currently held by U.S. Representative Steve King.
The event is open to members of the media. Media members are asked to place a courtesy call to the Northwest Iowa Regional Board of REALTORS® at (712) 255-8810 so we may adequately prepare for additional guests.
