The Northwest Iowa Regional Board of REALTORS® was pleased to act as sponsor and hosts for the Sioux City RAGBRAI Information Centers on July 19 and 20. Scores of our REALTOR® members took time from their weekend to staff booths to assist cyclists visiting the community in preparation for the July 20 departure on Iowa’s oldest and longest bicycle ride.
As Information Booth volunteers, our REALTOR® members provided information about the community, points of interest, directions and food and beverage recommendations among other things. After all, who knows a community better than its REALTORS®, right?
The event provided many positive opportunities for members to interact with visitors and help showcase the community we love, and in which we live and work.
Many thanks to the teams at United Real Estate Solutions and Century 21 ProLink, as those offices provided all the staff for one information site each. The remaining information location was staffed by REALTOR members from across the NWIA board.
A good time was had by all, and our Northwest Iowa REALTOR® members were delighted to assist in this fun community effort.
After taking a summer break, our Board Luncheon events will resume in September. Join us September 17 at Bev’s on the River from 11:30 am to 1:00 PM. September is REALTOR® Safety Month, and we’ll have a helpful presentation on that topic. Be there to network, eat great food and learn something!
We had a sweet time together on Thursday, July 16 as our Board of Directors gathered to receive some well-deserved appreciation for their volunteer efforts from our membership.
Our Directors give hundreds of hours each year to the Board and we truly do appreciate their time and value their leadership and service to the REALTOR® profession.
An enjoyable pizza lunch was served, followed by a sweet dessert of pies.
Okay, not that the pies were actually eaten, mind you.
More like they were tossed in the faces of our hardworking directors. Thankfully they were great sports, and it was all for a good cause, as all funds raised were in support of RPAC.
Thanks to those who turned out to spend the Noon hour with us, and a special thanks to our Directors for being agreeable to a little craziness for a good cause.
REALTORS® across the country receive threatening demand letters and lawsuits with alleged patent infringement based on the use of common business tools such as drop down menus or search alert functions on websites and the scanner function on a copier. These patent trolls buy vague patents and use them to turn everyday business practices into potential lawsuits.
H.R. 9 is scheduled for House floor consideration next week. Congress must pass this common-sense comprehensive patent litigation reform to protect Main Street businesses and REALTORS® from patent troll abuse.
Members, please take action today by clicking here. It will take less than 90 seconds for you to act on this issue that is imperative to the future of your business.
